Whatever you call them: harvest mites, red mites, or chiggers, all that matters is how much they itch!  If you’ve never had these bug bites before, it’s hard to imagine how something smaller than the period at the end of this sentence could be so bothersome.  But relief is just around the next corner, and prevention is possible.  Chiggers can be found in many places like grassy fields, forest, near streams and lakes.   If your child has been enjoying the outdoors recently and you notice ferocious itching bumps, think chiggers.
