Is that cold just not getting any better and maybe even settling in the chest? Be on guard!  Those respiratory symptoms might be more than a winter cold and could be something much more severe. Some viruses cause infection down in the lungs.  Bronchiolitis typically affects children during their first two years of life and can be a big problem because airways are smaller and easier to block in young toddlers. If your child’s cold has taken a turn for the worse, and you hear symptoms such as wheezing or a rapid heart beat, you want to learn all you can about bronchiolitis.  It’s likely you’ll need one or more trips into the doctor’s office to get over the illness.
